On 11 and 12 September, representatives of NASOR participated in a workshop and partnership meeting of the SAS project in Paris, France. The workshop was aimed at building a profile of the professional mentors of people with disabilities, supporting them during their integration in the workplace on the one hand, and supporting employers on the other. A SWOT analysis was also carried out on the employment of people with disabilities, showing the strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities that this vulnerable group faces.
During the meeting, different project partners presented government policies for employment of people with disabilities, such as how in Spain, Greece, Italy, Norway and Bulgaria both employers and individuals are stimulated. Good practices from world leaders who employ people with disabilities were also presented.
The two-day event provided an opportunity to exchange experiences between the partners, and the next task of the project, in which NASOR and LADAPT are leaders, was presented, with a report on the professional profile of a mentor for people with disabilities, as well as proposals for amending European employment policies.
