On 15 November, at the Expo Hotel Sofia, was held the first stand-alone for NASOR – National Forum of Socially Responsible Employers: Socially Responsible Business and Inclusive Employment. The Association made it possible to bring together over 120 stakeholders to discuss topics related to employment, socially responsible business behavior, social economy, etc.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, the Ministry of Economy, the Employment Agency, the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency (BSMEPA) , the Economic and Social Council (ESC) and others. Congratulatory addresses were addressed by Ms Denitsa Sacheva, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Labour, Social and Demographic Policy at the National Assembly, Ms Zornitsa Rusinova, Chairperson of the ESC, Dr Boyko Takov, Executive Director of BSMEPA.
An analysis of the Economic and Social Council on employment development for people with disabilities in Bulgaria was also presented. Mr. Georgi Georgiev, chairman of NASO, presented specific proposals of NASO and NASOR for regulatory changes and improvement of the state support to employers for the development of employment for people with disabilities in Bulgaria.
The forum was attended by a large number of representatives of business and employer circles, some of whom actively participated in the event with a presentation or exhibition, presenting the good experience of their company in the field of corporate social responsibility in the panel “Practical aspects, best practices and solutions from Bulgaria and Europe”. These were Leoni Bulgaria, McDonalds, Japan Tobacco International, Yettel, Mebel Style, The Cookies, MairaOils, etc. Each of the speakers inspired with their presentation, gave good examples from their practice, and shared the challenges they face in implementing their socially responsible policies. The panel was also attended by representatives of CSR Innovative Solutions, Norway – partners of NASOR in the project “Building a Socially Responsible Business Environment”, who presented the socially responsible practices of the highly developed country of Norway.
The forum was also held as part of NASOR’s activities under the project “Building a Socially Responsible Business Environment” funded by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism.
